What to expect when you schedule your Initial Consultation:
When you are ready to take the first step, contact us to set up an appointment. Please email us or text the number below with your name and the reason for your visit. Both email and text are secure, HIPAA complaint messaging services. You may also leave a voicemail, however, text and email are typically faster as our phone is not monitored during the day. Prior to your first appointment, we will ask the necessary questions to ensure we can adequately meet your needs and will provide you with a log-in for your client portal in our online system. We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant electronic client portal to send you an email with a link to complete the paperwork that will establish you (or your child) as a new client in our system. We require that you provide a credit card to be used for secure, contactless payments through the portal.
What to expect on your appointment day:
You will arrive at our private, shared office suite in Cornelius for your appointment. The initial consultation will last 45-60 minutes. During this time, we will listen as you explain why you are seeking psychological services. Then, we will gather the necessary background information to best assist you, your child, family, or relationship. At the conclusion of your session, you and your therapist will develop a plan for your treatment or evaluation services.
*Please note that the initial consultation for most children will be exclusively with their parent(s) so that you may speak freely about your child and family situation when helping us to understand your child’s needs without concern for discussing concerns in front of your child. Exceptions are made for older teens or special circumstances.
We are exclusively a private, self-pay practice. This guarantees your privacy, and means you will pay our office directly and securely through your portal for the services provided. We do not participate with, interact with, nor serve as an "Out of Network provider" for any health insurance company. This also means that we do not provide Superbills or claim forms to clients for any insurance company, as this can result in requests for information disclosures, requests for us (or you) to return payments or denials of our services. Fees for services vary depending on the service provided. We will provide you with a "good faith estimate" of your anticipated fees once we understand what services you are seeking.
Payment in full by cash, credit card, or HSA card is due prior to your service. Your card on file will be charged at your appointment time unless you have requested to pay cash in advance. You may call or email our office directly to schedule an appointment. A referral is not necessary.
